In a case of rather unusual mistaken identity, singer Susan Boyle was given the royal treatment by train officials at Gare du Nord.

The I dreamed a dream singer had a good laugh when Eurostar train staff greeted her with bows and curtsies.

According to UK's Daily Mirror, the misunderstanding began when a rumour went around that the Queen was on board the train and passengers were asked to "observe royal etiquette".

"It soon became clear it was Susan - and not Her Majesty - but one train attendant still thought she was the Queen. Susan roared laughing when she realised the mix-up," an onlooker said.

Boyle was travelling with her niece Kristy Foy and manager Andy Stephens in first class at the time. She was on the way back to London after performing at the Sanremo festival Italy and making a TV appearance in France.
