There’s a major misconception doing the rounds that, girls who work in magazines live their lives on diets and never eat the good stuff. I’m, here to tell you that the CLEO office throws that belief squarely on its head.

On any given afternoon there are a number of lollies or chocolates in this office. Tim Tams are a favourite. As are Allens snakes and jelly babies (although for some reason we all end up leaving the yellow ones in the jar). The art girls are always mixing up their choices – one week someone’s brought back Reeses chocolate from OS, and the next they are sharing an afternoon mud cake. Then there’s the constant supply of biscuits. Verena, our ed coordinator, will tell you that the most important part of her job is to make sure the cookie jar is full. Beware the wrath of a CLEO staffer on print deadline with no cookies to ease the angst.

But recently we came across the best chocolate/cookie/sweet-tooth invention ever! The Mrs Fields Gigantic Cookie Cake. Yes, this does exist and yes, it is as good as it sounds. We tucked into one at a farewell for web ed Emily (see the cookie in all it’s glory). From the mouths of sweet connoisseurs, “We implore you to give it a try.” If there is anything better than a Mrs Field’s cookie, it’s a giant one you can share with all your friends. View all posts
