Question:

I just bought a LBD for a semi-formal night, which is really cute with a subtle pattern. I was wondering what colour and kind of accessories i should look for (along with shoes) - without seeming boring? from nat

Answer:

An LBD is a great, fail safe choice for all events. You can definitely jazz it up without being boring!

I suggest sticking to a great pair of black heels – a patent version would look best and add instant glamour. Try Mollini, Witchery and Wanted Shoe Co for some on trend, affordable styles.

Have fun with your accessories! Head gear is huge right now (Nicole, Mischa and Mary Kate are all fans), so grab a jeweled headband to work with your outfit. You’ll find a fab selection at Diva and in department stores such as Myer and David Jones. I’d then add a statement cuff – something chunky and sparkly, in the same colour way as your headband. Silver or gold will both look timeless and add some glitz to basic black. Alannah Hill has done some great accessories this season so be sure to check her stores out.

To finish the look off, grab a hard case clutch from Mimco. Opt for an embellished or brightly coloured style to add impact to your outfit.

Et voila, you’re done!

  • I couldn`t live without mine for ten years now, specifically for my legs. Once a week and I`m done. Not for armpits, a little difficult and more painful for bikini line and OK for upper lip. It was a great investment. Go for the ones with discs.
