Work experience at CLEO confirmed my obsession with mags and, as fate would have it, I landed a job here a few years later. After a year, I moved to madison, working in the features department for over three years before re-joining the CLEO team. No day is the same – I could be pitching story ideas, researching, interviewing or writing. Add to this endless talk about Gossip Girl, a seemingly never-ending cupcake supply, and a bunch of cool colleagues and you have yourself one happy girl.

Rewind to January when the world was mourning the shock passing of Heath Ledger. At 28, he left behind a gorgeous daughter, Matilda Rose — the spitting image of her father — and a burgeoning career.
Following his untimely death, there were very positive whispers about his last role: his portrayal of The Joker in the latest Batman movie, The Dark Knight. Praise for his performance — described as "haunting", "chilling" and "unforgettable" — came in bucket loads.
This week, six months on from Heath's death, the film is being released worldwide and has got the entertainment industry talking — again. And rightly so!
I was lucky enough to watch a preview screening of the film at Imax (how cool is Imax?!) earlier in the week and all I can say is "Wow!" Critics are predicting an Oscar and, well, to say Heath was amazing in the role is an understatement. Major props to Maggie Gyllenhaal, too. Great job. But back to Heath for a minute.
Watching him on screen — doing what he did best — was a bittersweet experience for a long-time fan (yep, 10 Things I Hate About You is where it all began for me!). I left the screening with goose bumps — you'll know what I mean when you watch it — but also a sense of happiness that his talent lives on. The Joker rocks!
