Kate Winslet's hair, Miley Cyrus' huge glittery dress (which she claims weighs more than her), Slumdog Millionare and Heath Ledger -- that's what everyone's talking about right now on the Oscars red carpet.

One of the perks of being web ed is being able to file stories in the midst of all the action. From Hilton's Zeta bar, with live streaming of the Oscars in the background - everyone's eager to see all the fashion on the red carpet arrival. I'll be reporting live from the E! Party so you won't miss a moment of all the glitz and glamour.

Apparently 'origami' style dresses are all the rage this year. Heidi Klum is spotted in one such dress -- a gorgeous crimson gown by Roland Mouret. Bold designs, light colours (think cream, white and pale green) are also a hit.
Sarah Jessica Parker (above) is wearing a strapless Dior Couture number which she describes as "barely mint".
Natalie Portman looks great in a hot pink strapless gown while Best Actress nominee Anne Hathaway steals the show in a jewel encrusted white gown.

Brace yourselves, Twilight fans – Rob Pattinson has arrived at the Oscars looking hotter than ever! The vampire heartthrob is spotted with longer locks (remember his buzz cut a few months ago?) and looking more like the Edward C we remember from the movie..
When asked whether he’d like to host the Oscars one day, the lovely Rob said yes! Well, we’re all longing for that day to come – but meanwhile, he revealed that he’s been working on a new project (besides New Moon). So hopefully we’ll see him back on the big screen soon. Hurrah!
1.01pm : Penelope Cruz snags an Oscar

Congrats to Penelope Cruz who’s won best supporting actress for her role in Vicky Christina Barcelona! “I grew up in a place called Alcobendas, where this was not a very realistic dream…I always felt that [the Oscars is] a moment of unity for the world because art, in any form, is and has been and will always be our universal language.” Bless.
2.16pm Heath Ledger wins Best Supporting Actor

Heath Ledger's family accepts the late actor's award for his role as The Joker in Dark Knight. Apparently Angelina shed some tears for Heath.
2.40pm: Slumdog scoreboard

This year’s front runner Slumdog Millionaire has just scored its fourth Oscar! So far the Slumdog crew has won the award for Film editing, Sound mixing, Cinematography and Best adapted screenplay. Go you good thing!
3.00pm: Slumdog vs Benjamin Button
Placed your bets on this year’s Best Picture yet? Well it looks like Slumdog (Now sitting at six Oscars) is beating Benjamin Button so far (at a humble three). Oh the suspense…
3.40pm: Kate Winslet wins Best Actress (Yay!)

This is the stuff of dreams. At last, our favourite girl Kate has snagged herself a Best Actress Oscar for her role in The Reader. Good on you Kate!
3:50 Best Actor annouced!

Sean Penn takes home the Oscar for Best Actor for his role in Milk -- beating Brad Pitt (Benjamin Button), Micky Rourke (The Wrestler), Richard Jenkins (The Visitor) and Frank Langella (Frost/Nixon).
4.00pm: Slumdog wins Best Director, Best Picture
Yep - you guessed it! Slumdog is the overall winner, securing a total of 8 Oscars, including Best Director for first-timer Danny Boyle! We reckon it's time to get an early mark and do a bit of celebrating. Til next year guys!
