WE LOVE YOUR HEALTHY AND NATURAL LOOK. HOW DO YOU DO IT?

"Being consistent in my training is the key. I also drink loads of water.”

WHY DO YOU THINK IT’S ESSENTIAL FOR WOMEN TO MAKE A COMMITMENT TO BEING FIT?

“It’s important not only for your body, but also for your mind, to try to stay healthy.”

DO YOU ENJOY EXERCISING?

“I find a healthier lifestyle empowering. Exercising makes me feel more energetic, fit and toned. I’m a good example of someone who’s really trying.”

YOUR FAVOURITE ACTIVITY?

“Walking. I really like little runs too. You can choose when and where you want to do it.”

WHAT DOES YOUR FITNESS REGIMEN INVOLVE?

“Because of my job I don’t have set training times. Sometimes I have to be at work at 6am so I’ll train in the afternoon, and other times I’ll start later in the day, so that allows me to do a workout session early in the morning.

The time doesn’t make a difference to me, as long as I’m doing some kind of fitness training four to five times a week, which could include going to the gym, taking the dogs for a walk, going for a jog, sand dune running or doing a Pilates class.”

DID YOU GROW UP BEING SPORTY?

“Living by the beach my whole life has allowed me to live an active lifestyle. Growing up I was always surfing with my dad and brother, or going for
runs along the sand.”

YOUR ATTITUDE TO MAINTAINING A HEALTHY DIET?

“Everything in moderation. If you’re training four to five times a week, then you’ll obviously need to eat more than you usually would, so I think a balanced diet is definitely the way to go.”

WHAT SORT OF EXERCISES ARE YOU DOING NOW?

“Squats, lunges and circuit- training workouts. Squats and lunges are extremely intense exercises; I’m always so sore in my legs, butt and thighs after a good gym session.

And also stretching for flexibility – I’m really stiff at the moment, so that’s something I’m currently working on.”

WHAT'S BEEN YOUR BIGGEST STRUGGLE IN STAYING HEALTHY?

“I grew up on a diet heavy in carbohydrates – rice, bread and potatoes. Now I strive for a better balance, especially when I’m getting in shape for photo shoots.  I’ve reduced my carb intake, but if I’m dining out or at somebody’s house for a party and they have bread or rice on the table, I’m going to indulge.”

DO YOU HAVE ANY NON-GYM ACTIVITIES YOU’VE FOUND USEFUL TO MAKE KEEPING FIT EASIER?

“Dancing while I clean my house! Playing with my three cousins – you can never keep up with kids. Also I have two energetic dogs who love running around at the beach,
so they all keep me active.”

A LOT OF GIRLS LOOK UP TO YOU. WHAT’S YOUR BEST PIECE OF ADVICE ABOUT FEELING CONFIDENT IN YOUR BODY?

“We all go through the same pain when we’re training, so I have no easy answers. All I do know is that eating healthy and staying active are the keys to
a long, happy life!”

  • I'm glad her emphasis was on staying healthy and fit, in oppose to trying to lose weight. And also having fun! And the fact that she said exercise improves your mental function, which is very true.
