WIN A MAN SLAVE FOR THE DAY

1. Instructions on how to enter and prizes form part of these conditions of entry. Participation in this promotion is deemed acceptance of the terms and conditions of entry. The promotion is open to all residents of Australia aged 18 years and over. Employees of the Promoter and their immediate families and agencies associated with this promotion are ineligible to enter.

2. The promotional period commences August 18, 2008 and closes 11:59pm (AEDST) September 12, 2008. The judging will take place at the Promoter’s premises and will begin on September 13, 2008. The winners will be contacted by phone and mail using the contact details provided in their entry. This is a game of skill, chance plays no part in determining the winners. Each entry will be individually judged based on literary and creative merit.

3. Participants may enter the promotion as follows. During the promotional period participants email CLEOmensexyou@acpmagazines.com.au and answer tell us in 25 words or less ‘If you won a man slave for the day, what would you make him do’ Email must also include the entrant’s full name, age, daytime phone number, and mailing address. The Promoter will not be responsible for any late, lost, misdirected entries, or incomplete or incorrect entrant contact details. Incomplete, illegible, incorrect and incomprehensible entries will be deemed invalid and will not be included in the judging.

4. The Promoter reserves the right, at any time, to verify the validity of entries and entrants (including an entrant’s identity, age and place of residence) and to disqualify any entrant who submits an entry that is not in accordance with these Conditions of Entry or who tampers with the entry process Failure by the Promoter to enforce any of its rights at any stage does not constitute a waiver of those rights.


5. Multiple entries accepted but each entry must be submitted separately and must be unique.

6. The best entry as determined by the judges will win a ‘man slave’ for the day. A The  ‘man slave’, to be donatedwill be provided to the winner by Linq Promotions and, will assist the winner in their desired tasks for the period of one day (approximately 7.5 hours). The tasks must be negotiated prior to the arranged day of help and cannot include any tasks that CLEO, Linq Promotions or the man slave deems inappropriate. The winner will be notified by phone of their win. Location, date and desired tasks will be confirmed in this phone call.At time of winner notification, Promoter will obtain a list of tasks that the winner wants the man slave to do. The list will then be assessed by Linq promotions and the nominated man-slave and then confirmation of the task list will be provided to the winner. At the time of confirmation of details, the exact date and location of redemption of the prize will be booked in and confirmed.

7. Prize does not include any ancillary costs associated with redeeming this prize. These are the responsibility of the winner.

8. Selection of man-slave is determined at the complete discretion of the Promoter. No correspondence will be entered into.

9. The prize is non transferable or exchangeable and not redeemable for cash. The prize needs to bemust be  redeemed in full by November 12, 2008. Prize must be redeemed at the one time (ie – the 7.5 hours must be taken consecutively on the one day during the hours stipulated by the Promoter and/or Linq promotions. In the event that for any reason whatsoever the winner does not take all elements of the prize at the time stipulated by the Promoter, then that element of the prize will be forfeited by the winner and cash will not be awarded in lieu of that element of the prize. Exact date of redemption of prize is subject to availability of man-slave.

10. Entries not completed in accordance with the rules and conditions or received after the closing date will not be considered valid and will not be included in the judging. Indecipherable or incomplete entries will be deemed invalid. The judge’s decision in relation to any aspect of the competition is final and binding on every person who enters. No correspondence will be entered into.

11. The Promoter accepts no responsibility for any loss incurred in the event that the appearance of the nominated man-slave is cancelled or unable to occur for any reason whatsoever. In the event the appearance of the nominated man-slave is cancelled, postponed, rescheduled or relocated for any reason whatsoever, the Promoter will make reasonable attempts to substitute the man-slave with another nominated man-slave at a time suitable to the man-slave and the winner..

8.12. Except for any liability that cannot be excluded by law, the Promoter (including its officers, employees and agents) excludes all liability (including negligence) for any personal injury; or any loss or damage (including loss of opportunity); whether direct, indirect, special or consequential, arising in any way out of the promotion, including, but not limited to, where arising out of the following: (a) any technical difficulties or equipment malfunction (whether or not under the Promoter’s control); (b) any theft, unauthorised access or third party interference; (c) any entry or prize claim that is late, lost, altered, damaged or misdirected (whether or not after their receipt by the Promoter) due to any reason beyond the reasonable control of the Promoter; (d) any variation in prize value to that stated in these conditions of entry; (e) any tax liability incurred by a winner or entrant; and/or (ff) participation inredemption of  the prize a. nd/or (g) participation in the promotion.

13. It is a condition of accepting the prize that the winner may be required to sign a legal documentation (including but not limited to a legal release). These documents will be provided in a form to be determined by the Promoter and/or Linq promotions in its complete discretion.


9.14. In the event of war, terrorism, state of emergency or disaster the Promoter reserves the right (subject to reference to all relevant state and territory regulations), to cancel, terminate, modify or suspend the promotion.

10.15. If for any reason this competition is not capable of running as planned, including infection by computer virus, bugs, tampering, unauthorised intervention, fraud, technical failures or any other causes beyond the control of the Promoter which corrupt or affect the administration security, fairness, integrity or proper conduct of this competition, the Promoter assumes no responsibility for any error, omission, interruption, deletion, defect, delay in operation or transmission, communications line failure, theft or destruction or unauthorised access to, or alteration of entries.

16. All entries  submitted become the property of the Promoter. Entries  will not be returned to any entrant. As a condition of entering into this promotion, each entrant agrees to assign all of their rights, title and interest (including but not limited to copyright) in and to their entry to the Promoter.  Each entrant warrants to the Promoter that each entry submitted is an original artistic work of the entrant which does not infringe the rights of any third party. The entrant agrees to indemnify the Promoter against all claims and costs by third parties arising from a breach of the warranty set out in this condition. The Promoter is entitled to use any entry  for any purposes at its discretion, including using the entry for future promotional, marketing and publicity purposes.


17. .  It is a condition of accepting the prize that the winner agrees that to be interviewed by the Promoter or Linq promotions if so required. In the event of such a request the interview will be photographed and may be included in a feature of an upcoming issue of CLEO magazine. As a condition of accepting the prize, the winner agrees to assign all of their rights, title and interest in and to the interview to the Promoter. The Promoter is entitled to use the interview submitted for any purposes at its discretion, including for any future promotion, marketing and publicity purposes. Inclusion of the interview (including but not limited to creative control of the feature) remains at all times at the complete discretion of the Promoter.

11.19. By entering the promotion, the entrant consents to receipt of any email regarding the promotion from the Promoter and other emails which inform the entrant of the Promoter’s other publications, products, services and events and to promote third party goods and services it may be interested in.

12.20. All entries become the property of the Promoter. The collection, use and disclosure of personal information provided in connection with this competition is governed by the Privacy Notice.
