"Designed for men. Worn by warriors." That's the slogan for nail polish brand Alphanail a line of varnishes just for the guys.
But you won't find any pretty pink or red shades in the range — think metallic, blacks and greys with names like Smoke, Gasoline and Burnin' Rubber.
Reckon’ male nail polish will never catch on? The folks at Alphanail say men will appear more masculine wearing 'nail armour' and, you guessed it, be more attractive to women.
To really drive home the point, they've used images on the website of a man on the beach holding bikini-clad women in his arms, painted fingernails hanging on to their bare flesh ('Oh, I just love your nails! they cry') and convinced total tough guys American kickboxer Nick Gonzalez and martial arts fighter Roger Huerta to wear polish while in the ring.

"Our unique click pen applicator does away with those dainty little brushes and girly nail polish containers. Just click, paint, put the cap on, and its ready to go for another round" (like a boxing match round, all tough and manly — geddit?)
Alphanail also believe that “no self respecting man should ever have to buy cotton balls”, so they also sell nail-polish removing wipes in a manly, gun-metal tin.
RELATED: Men in heels (and no, they're not drag queens)Last year an ad for US clothing brand J Crew that showed top designer Jenna Lyons painting her young son's toenails neon pink was met with criticism from some psychologists, including one who called it an encouragement “to abandon all trappings of gender identity.” We wonder what they’ll think of Alphanail?
Get ready ladies, your man may soon be applying his top coat on the lounge next to you!
