CLEO chats to Swedish indie music sensation Lykke Li.
What has been your favourite place you’ve toured so far?
Australia’s amazing. It’s always an amazing feeling to have people come watch you, but of course it’s nicer when there’s sun.
What is the weather like in Sweden?
Freezing cold.
So you’re not shocked by our warmer weather?
People think that just because we live where it’s cold that we like cold, but we hate it just like everybody else.
You recently featured on a N.A.S.A track with Kanye West, how’d that come about?
I was checking my emails and it was like, “Do you want to be on this track that Kanye West is going to be on?” and I was like; ‘I don’t know… Okay!’ And then I flew to the studio and I did it in two hours.
Are you a fan of his?
I’m a fan of his videos!
You like vintage shopping, what are your favourite things?
Actually, the favourite things that I really wear from year-to-year are my mother’s old clothes. My parents moved to Portugal a few years ago, so she was getting rid of stuff she won’t need there, so I was like, “Woo!”.
You were both the same size?
No, but she’s very tall and slim and I like everything to be oversized.
What are you currently obsessed with?
Coffee. Little Wayne. He’s a bad-ass.
