CLEO’s Next Top Blogger T&Cs

1. Instructions on how to enter and prizes form part of these conditions of entry. Participation in this promotion is deemed acceptance of the terms and conditions of entry. The promotion is open to all residents of Australia aged 16 years and over. Employees of the Promoter and their immediate families and agencies associated with this promotion are ineligible to enter.

2. There are two stages in  this promotion.: The Finalist Round and the Major Prize winner.

3. To enter send an email to nexttopblogger@cleo.com.au with a link to your blog page along with a 25 words or less explanation of the site’s purpose and/or goal. Your email must also include entrant’s name, address and daytime phone number.

4. The best four entries, as determined by the judges, will be deemed finalists.

5. Finalists will receive a cash prize of $100 and will be asked to create a new creative piece to be published in Cleo magazine. Publication of four final creative pieces will be deemed the Finalist round and Cleo readers will be called to  judge (via vote) for their favourite blogger. The entry deemed the best by the judging panel and readers votes will be deemed the Major Prize winner and will win a cash prize of $500

6. The promotional period (for entries) commences July 21, 2008 and closes 11.59pm (AEDST) August 17, 2008. The judging will take place at the Promoter’s premises and will begin on August 18, 2008.

7. Finalists/ winners will be contacted by phone and mail using the contact details provided in their entry. This is a game of skill and chance plays no part in determining the winners. Each entry will be individually judged based on literary and creative merit.

9. The four Finalists will win $100 each and will be asked to create a unique creative piece to be published in the October issue of Cleo (on sale September 15, 2008). Cash prize will be awarded in the form of a cheque made in favour of t he winner. It is a condition of accepting the Finalists prize that he finalist warrant to ACP Magazines that the unique  creative piece they submit for the opportunity to win the Major prize, is a work that has been previously unpublished in any form of media worldwide.
 The Major prize winner of the Cleo’s Next Top Blogger promotion will win $500 and will have their work published on the Cleo website  from November 17 to December 14, 2008. Cash prize will be awarded in the form of a cheque made in favour of the winner.

 Inclusion of all creative work in Cleo magazine and on the Cleo website (including but not limited to creative control and date of inclusion) remains at the complete discretion of the Promoter.

10. The Promoter will not be responsible for any late, lost, misdirected entries, or incomplete or incorrect entrant contact details. Incomplete, illegible, incorrect and incomprehensible entries will be deemed invalid and will not be included in the judging.

11. Multiple entries accepted but each entry must be submitted separately and must be substantially unique.

12. Each entry must be the entrants own work.

13. The prize is non transferable or exchangeable and (unless otherwise stated) not redeemable for cash.

14. Entries not completed in accordance with the rules and conditions or received after the closing date will not be considered valid and will not be included in the judging. Indecipherable or incomplete entries will be deemed invalid. The judge’s decision in relation to any aspect of the competition is final and binding on every person who enters. No correspondence will be entered into.

15. Except for any liability that cannot be excluded by law, the Promoter (including its officers, employees and agents) excludes all liability (including negligence) for any personal injury; or any loss or damage (including loss of opportunity); whether direct, indirect, special or consequential, arising in any way out of the promotion, including, but not limited to, where arising out of the following: (a) any technical difficulties or equipment malfunction (whether or not under the Promoter’s control); (b) any theft, unauthorised access or third party interference; (c) any entry or prize claim that is late, lost, altered, damaged or misdirected (whether or not after their receipt by the Promoter) due to any reason beyond the reasonable control of the Promoter; (d) any variation in prize value to that stated in these conditions of entry; (e) any tax liability incurred by a winner or entrant; and/or (f) participation in the prize.

16. In the event of war, terrorism, state of emergency or disaster the Promoter reserves the right (subject to reference to all relevant state and territory regulations), to cancel, terminate, modify or suspend the promotion.

 If for any reason this competition is not capable of running as planned, including infection by computer virus, bugs, tampering, unauthorised intervention, fraud, technical failures or any other causes beyond the control of the Promoter which corrupt or affect the administration security, fairness, integrity or proper conduct of this competition, the Promoter assumes no responsibility for any error, omission, interruption, deletion, defect, delay in operation or transmission, communications line failure, theft or destruction or unauthorised access to, or alteration of entries.

17. All entries become the property of the promoter. All entries (including but not limited to photos and related creative works) submitted become the property of the promoter. Entries will not be returned to any entrant. As a condition of entering into this promotion, each entrant agrees to assign all of their rights, title and interest in and to their entry to the promoter. Each entrant warrants to the Promoter that each entry submitted is a creative work of the entrant which does not infringe the rights of any third party. The entrant agrees to indemnify the promoter against all claims and costs by third parties arising from a breach of the warranty set out in this condition. The promoter is entitled to use any of the entries submitted for any purposes at its discretion, including for any future promotion, marketing and publicity purposes.

18. It is a condition of entry that the Promoter is granted an irrevocable license to publish any story/piece/ creative works  submitted by the winner( including but not limited to works submitted in connection to the winners submission)  in an issue of CLEO chosen at the discretion of the Promoter. By accepting the prize the winner agrees to the publication of their works by ACP Magazines (publisher of CLEO magazine the and  CLEO website)..

19. By entering the promotion, the entrant consents to receipt of any email regarding the promotion from the Promoter and other emails which inform the entrant of the Promoter’s other publications, products, services and events and to promote third party goods and services it may be interested in.

20. All entries become the property of the Promoter. The collection, use and disclosure of personal information provided in connection with this competition is governed by the Privacy Notice.
