Blake Lively and Ryan Reynolds are married

Wait a minute – what?! The couple did buy a home together earlier this year, but we have to admit we still did not see this one coming.

Blake, 25, and Ryan, 35, tied the knot at a plantation near Mt Pleasant in the US state of South Carolina, a source confirmed to PEOPLE magazine today.

So far details about the ceremony are scarce, but thanks to PEOPLE we do know that the reception was held in a white tent on Sunday night, with a performance from none other than Florence Welch of Florence + The Machine (Welch and Lively are said to be good friends).

So far reps for Lively and Reynolds are yet to comment. As much as we’d probably elbow a senior citizen out of the way to get a look at some photos from Blake and Ryan’s nuptials, we do have to applaud them for pulling off the ceremony in secret.

It seems Reynolds is a bit of a pro at eluding media and paparazzi. His 2008 marriage to Scarlett Johansson was conducted in a similarly private manner – it was only days after the event the world learned that the couple had wed in a remote location in Canada.

Reynolds and Lively got to know each other as co-stars in 2011’s Green Lantern, and it didn’t take long for romance to ensue. Lively flew to Boston to spend time with Ryan just days after splitting from Leonardo DiCaprio, who she dated for around six months.
