Jessie J brings girl out of coma

Pop star Jessie J has become a celebrity good samaritan after helping to bring a British girl out of a coma.

11:38AM, Aug 20

Six-year-old Tyla Atkin had been in an induced coma for eight days in London’s Great Ormond Street Hospital after the car she was in with her mother Michelle and grandmother Theresa was hit by a truck back in April.

As luck would have it, Michelle heard through a friend that 24-year-old ‘Price Tag’ singer Jessie J – Tyla’s idol – was visiting the hospital. She managed to get a message to Jessie’s J’s management, and before she knew it the star was singing her daughter’s favourite song ‘Rainbow’ at her bedside.

Within a few hours of the half-hour serenade, Tyla began to stir from her week-long slumber.

"Doctors say you have to keep talking to people in comas to keep them focused and connected," Michelle told the UK's The Sun.

“I believe Jessie J saved Tyla. She gave my daughter back to me. I’m so grateful.”

Now Tyla has recovered from the accident and says she keeps a photo of her pop idol close to her heart.

“I’ve got a picture of her. I always put my hand on it and pray,” the youngster said.

Now that's a heart-warming celebrity story. It certainly presents a challenge to Ryan Gosling (who saved a woman from being hit by a car in New York) in the celebrity good samaraitan stakes!
