Elizabeth Olsen is pretty in pink (hair)

IMAGE: BULLETT Elizabeth Olsen has affirmed her place as our favourite Olsen sister (sorry Mary-Kate and Ashley, we do still love you) by rocking pastel pink locks in a fantastical photoshoot for US indie publication Bullett.

The 23-year-old Martha Marcy May Marlene actress, who eschewed the mainstream acting career handed to her because of her surname and is instead pursuing roles in small art-house films, looked like some kind of fashionable superhero as she dons couture in the ethereal photoshoot.

Okay, so the pink hair is actually a wig, but we think she could work it for real a la Katy Petty, Rihanna and the other gazillion celebrities experimenting with rainbow locks lately.

In the photoshoot’s accompanying interview, Elizabeth explained that she takes her career seriously to prove claims that she’s just Mary-Kate and Ashley’s little sister wrong.

"There’s definitely a reason why I went to so many acting conservatories,' she said. "The more I trained, the less people could say, ‘Oh, she’s just so-and-so’s sister."

"They can still say that, sure—I have no control over that—but at least I know I’ve worked hard. There was definitely a time when I overcompensated, but I’m kind of over that."
