Lady Gaga posts photo of her 'morning face' on Twitter

The 'show us your morning face' trend was big a few months ago after writers at US website xoJane.com took photos of their faces first thing in the AM and published them on the website. They then encouraged readers to follow suit — and were inundated with hundreds of images of bare, beautiful (and mainly female) faces.

After the UK's Daily Mail and other websites around the world followed xoJane.com's lead, what resulted was a social experiment that helped to balance and bring some realism to the images of flawless celebrities we're bombarded with on a daily basis.

And now Lady Gaga has done her bit, snapping a shot of herself au natural in the bathroom mirror accompanied by the message 'Have a beautiful day!' and posting it on Twitter.

Admittedly, the photo isn't a close-up like most 'morning face' shots, and Gaga has added a flower behind her ear, but you've gotta give the girl props for sharing a little bit of the 'real' Lady Gaga with her fans, sans crazy make-up and hair extensions. We'd like to see more celebrities follow suit.
