This Aussie water baby knows a thing or two about taking care of her hair and skin
10:21AM, Jul 17
She clocks up hours in the pool, so Aussie swimmer and Pantene Ambassador Emily Seebohm knows a thing or two about taking care of her hair and skin. We asked Emily, who's representing Australia at the London Olympics, to share her best health and beauty advice.
What is your morning skin care ritual?
I try not to overload my skin with lots of products, so I use Cetaphil to wash my face and leave it clean and fresh.
How do you take care of the skin on your body?
Because I train outdoors I am always putting sunscreen on my face (well, when I remember to!) I love a good body lotion so my skin doesn't dry out. I am loving the Victoria Secret body lotions at the moment, they smell so yummy.
What is your daytime makeup look?
During the week my makeup is a pretty basic fresh-faced look, but for the weekend I like a bit of colour on my lips or eyes.
And your nighttime makeup look?
Unless it is the weekend I try to keep it pretty fresh.
How do you care for your hair?
I make sure I have a good hair regime. After each session in the pool, I use Pantene Daily Moisture Renewal Shampoo and Conditioner. It doesn't weigh my hair down and keeps it looking shiny and healthy. If you're a swimmer, rinse your hair before you step into the pool. This means your hair will absorb the clean water rather than the chlorinated water, which helps protect it against damage.
Do you ever have hair treatments or do DIY masks?
Yes, I love doing regular hair masks at home, they really help to maintain my hair health as I spend so much time in chlorinated water. My favourite is the Pantene Moisture Renewal Intensive Treatment; I find it really hydrating and leaves my hair very soft and manageable.
What is an average training day like?
Training morning and night with gym and massage/physio treatments in between.
Do you have tips for anyone wanting to start a fitness regimen?
Start light and then work your way up. Find something you will enjoy.
Do you follow a strict healthy eating plan?
I don't have a super strict eating plan, it's more about just being smart when it comes to what I eat and not eating too much sugar.
What are your weaknesses when it comes to food?
Icecream is my biggest weakness by far!
