Q: How did the band come about?
A: Singer Tim Harvey and I met through our girlfriends at the time. We eventually started a disco act called Hot Tang and the partnership grew from there!
Q: Whose music inspires you?
A: I think there’s a Tom Waits song for every situation imaginable.
Q: First concert you attended?
A: Michael Jackson at the MCG
Q: What’s the craziest thing you’ve done on stage?
A: When I was 20, I was Mr. Indonesia in my cousin’s Mr. Australasia competition. In the first round we had to walk out in front of hundreds of people in our boxer shorts. I didn’t make it to round two.
Q: What’s your dream collaboration?
A: We asked The Rapture the same thing and I’m going to borrow their answer: “Someone with a lot of money”.
Q: Your ideal Saturday night?
A: Good music, friends on pushbikes, lounge room-based dancing. Maybe an element of romance.
