I have been a die hard Next Top Model fan since the beginning, but did anyone realize that the beginning was ahh.. 6 years ago?
I can’t believe the show’s about to hit cycle 13 in September. I swear I blinked and missed cycles 9, 10, 11 and 12.
I have no idea who won them, who was the biggest ‘meanie’, or who secretly added butter to everyone’s food to make them put on weight.
How did that happen? On the one hand, I’m slightly disappointed about missing all the goss. But to be perfectly honest, watching the first episode of cycle 12 today made me realise why I had let my loyalty to the show slip in the first place.
It’s become all about Tyra! This was minimal in the first few cycles but now it is relentless.
Pictures of her pop up everywhere and they were clearly recent and therefore clearly taken specifically for the show.
These poor girls have no chance of bettering their self esteem when Tyra Banks lines every wall of their elaborate apartments.
Not to mention that she talks about her other show, her very own self-titled talk show, non-stop. (Seriously, I forget which one I am watching sometimes.)
Please get back to the task at hand, Tyra – and find us some more beautiful country girls worthy of their time in the spotlight.
