When I first expressed an interest in the mag world, a friend who worked in the industry suggested I not even try – because it was way too hard to break in. I scored a job four weeks later. In a way it was fate. My mum worked in fashion, I loved writing and was obsessed with beauty products. Working at CLEO is amazing. Once a year we travel to an exotic location to shoot summer beauty, plus I get to see every beauty product before they hit the stores and meet the inspirational people behind the brands.

The first stages of the CLEO’s Make Me a Makeup Artist competition (in association with Priceline) have begun and I’m so excited to be one of the judges.
I know Australia will have a plethora of creative and talented makeup-artists-in-the-making to choose from and it will be interesting to see each entrant’s style evolve.
Working with beauty products over the years, I’ve seen some great innovations so I can’t wait to see how each person puts key products to use, copes under pressure and finally, to see the diversity of each makeup look unfold.
I’m constantly searching for inspiring makeup artists to work with on CLEO beauty shoots, so I’m sure with Rae Morris (L’Oreal Paris Makeup Artist) and Anna Hull (Head Beauty Buyer, Priceline) by my side we will uncover a true talent. Let the judging begin!
If you want to be one of the four lucky people chosen to take part in the CLEO online reality show and win $10,000, click
