Do you find it hard to unwind during a break? Follow our tips for instant calm.
Have Your Say

Go for an early morning walk
A short stroll at the most tranquil time of day is a win-win. Firstly, you get to familiarise yourself with the local area (including the best shopping spots), and secondly, you earn extra points for the exercise factor.
Read a book
You know that trashy novel you’ve been planning to look at? Well, now is the time to start. Read as much – or as little – as you want as you lie on the sand.
Book a massage
No holiday is complete without a bit of pampering. Close your eyes and enjoy every minute.
Ditch the watch
If there’s one occasion you shouldn’t have to watch the clock, it’s now. Wake up late, eat when you feel like it, and do things when you’re ready to.
Avoid constant Facebook/ Twitter checks
Do you really need to know what your friends are up to every 30 minutes? Chances are it won’t be as exciting as your holiday – you know, the one you’re on now?! Remind yourself that Facebook will still exist at the end of your trip. And, when you return, you’ll be able to post photos of all the amazing things you got up to (because you dragged yourself away from the computer screen. Smart move)
Switch off your phone
We may be a tech-obsessed generation, but our (over) use of mobiles shouldn’t creep into holiday time with loved ones. Dare yourself to go phone-free and reap the benefits. Less talk and text = more “you” time ... and more leftover credit!
